🧠 Neuroplasticity & Development

Q: What is neuroplasticity and how does it help children with developmental challenges?
A: Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. This means that with the right therapy and stimulation, a child’s brain can “rewire” itself to improve skills like communication, focus, and movement. At DBC, we use neuroplasticity-based approaches to support children with Autism, ADHD, TBI, Down syndrome, and other learning challenges - even those who haven’t responded well to standard therapies.

Q: How does reflex integration support neurodevelopment?
A: Primitive reflexes are automatic movements present at birth that lay the foundation for learning and motor control. If they remain active beyond infancy, they can interfere with attention, coordination, and behavior. Reflex integration therapy helps resolve these retained reflexes, unlocking new learning potential and improving a child’s ability to focus, regulate emotions, and engage with the world.

🧩 Autism & ADHD

Q: How is your approach to autism therapy different from traditional ABA?
A: While ABA therapy is a powerful tool for teaching behavior and skills, many children benefit from combining it with neurodevelopmental approaches that address root causes in the brain and nervous system. Our approach supports communication, sensory regulation, and social connection while meeting children where they are - including those who haven’t thrived with standard methods.

Q: Can neurodevelopmental therapy help children with ADHD?
A: Yes. By strengthening the brain pathways involved in attention, impulse control, and executive function, neurodevelopmental therapy can help children with ADHD improve focus and self-regulation. These improvements often make daily routines, learning, and social interactions easier.

🩺 Broader Developmental & Medical Needs

Q: What support is available for children with Down syndrome or traumatic brain injury (TBI)?
A: We provide individualized programs tailored to each child’s unique neurological profile. For children with Down syndrome or TBI, we focus on improving sensory processing, communication, cognitive skills, and motor development through targeted neuroplasticity-based interventions.

Q: Can your services help children with complex needs who haven’t responded to standard therapies?
A: Absolutely. Many families come to us after traditional approaches haven’t achieved the results they hoped for. By examining the brain and nervous system in greater detail - and targeting therapy at that level - we often see breakthroughs in communication, behavior, and learning, even in complex cases.

🏠 Family & Physician Collaboration

Q: How do you involve parents and caregivers in the therapy process?
A: Parents are vital partners in the therapy journey. We teach families how to reinforce progress at home with simple daily activities and provide ongoing support to ensure changes last. Our goal is to empower caregivers, not just treat the child in isolation.

Q: How can physicians or clinics collaborate with you?
A: We welcome referrals and partnerships with medical professionals. By working together, we can coordinate care, share progress updates, and design complementary treatment plans to support each child’s unique needs.
