Meet Alison Wimmer

Certified, Licensed, and Fully Insured ISR Instructor Serving Midland and the Permian Basin

Water safety is personal for our family, and it is the reason ISR Midland sWIMMERs exists.

My name is Alison Wimmer, and I am a Certified ISR Instructor dedicated to helping children develop the skills they need to be safer and more confident around water. Every day, I have the privilege of teaching children skills that could make a life-changing difference when seconds matter most.

At ISR Midland sWIMMERs, our mission goes beyond teaching children how to swim.

We focus on teaching children how to survive in the water first. While many swim programs emphasize water comfort and stroke development, our lessons are designed around purposeful aquatic survival skills. We teach children to protect their airway, control their breathing, float, rest, and respond appropriately whenever they enter the water.

One of the questions I encourage parents to ask when evaluating swim lessons is, "What is my child actually being taught to do when they go underwater?" Every skill we teach has a purpose. The habits children practice become the habits they rely on. That is why safety is at the center of everything we do.

Parents often tell me they are looking for peace of mind. While no swim lesson can replace active supervision, fences, alarms, locked gates, or other layers of protection, quality survival swimming lessons can provide an important additional layer. Water accidents happen quickly and quietly, often when adults least expect them.

My goal is to help children develop skills that can help them respond effectively in the water while giving parents greater confidence and peace of mind.

Teaching children has always been a passion of mine. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child accomplish something they once thought was impossible. Every child learns differently, and I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where children feel supported, successful, and proud of their progress.

At ISR Midland sWIMMERs, we believe that children are capable of far more than most people realize when they are given the opportunity, consistency, and encouragement to succeed. Our lessons are customized to each child’s developmental stage, physical abilities, and individual needs, helping them build confidence that extends beyond the pool.

Over the years, we have received messages from families sharing stories of children who have used their water safety skills in real-life situations. Those stories serve as a powerful reminder that what we teach extends far beyond swimming lessons. We are not simply teaching children how to move through the water—we are teaching skills that can help protect them throughout their lives.

Whether your goal is water safety, confidence, independence, or a strong foundation for future swimming, we would be honored to partner with your family.
